Paul McMullin is an architectural photographer based in Liverpool whose
work has taken him around the world, tackling such diverse subjects as
major construction projects in the Far and Middle East, architecture in
the USA, and fruit farms and charity aid projects in Africa.

His photographic career started on 4th July 1977 when he joined
Photoflex Ltd of Liverpool. He also used to freelance as a sports
photographer at weekends for a number of specialist football magazines,
including Match Weekly. In his spare time he would often wander around
the formerly derelict Liverpool Albert Dock making pictorial images of
the decaying buildings. He later worked as a staff photographer for the
BICC cable company based in Prescot, where his duties included studio
and location photography throughout the country and became the chief
photographer in 1984. In 1987 he set up his own photography business
working as a consultant for his former employer and that of the many
subsidiaries of the BICC group amongst other corporate organisations.
His commercial and architectural work has taken him to far-flung
locations such as Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Dubai,
Indonesia, Zambia, and the USA, which often entailed numerous visits to
cover ongoing projects.

Since 1987 he has continued to build on his experience and now works
mainly in the corporate sector producing images for corporate reports,
brochures and general advertising campaigns for construction,
architectural and public sector clients. He has won many awards
including North West Photographer of the Year under the auspices of the
British Institute of Professional Photography. His personal work of
Liverpool City is sold as limited edition prints and canvases. His Book
'A Portrait of Liverpool' was published in 2005.
